DESCRIPTION & DETAILS:

Join us for our monthly "Big Adventures," where we embark past our local trails and head out for some epic rides. This self-supported adventure is all about exploring new horizons, fostering a sense of community, and creating lasting memories with like-minded enthusiasts.

These rides are free! Big Adventures are all about the joy of cycling and building connections within our biking community.

Gear up, bring your spirit of adventure, and let's make each ride a memorable journey together!

RIDER PREREQUISITES:

Ages: Open to all ages. Those under 15 must be supervised by an adult.

Rider Skill Level: Varies by ride. Route posted ahead of time.

Note: This is a self-supported ride. Riders must come prepared with tubes, patch kits, levers, etc. Our coaches will be able to facilitate mechanicals, but we suggest each rider come with their own mechanical supplies.

Please alot 3+ hours for each ride. Each ride time will vary.


WHEN & WHERE:

2nd Sunday of the month. 1:00 pm February - April, 9:00 am May - October

Current Scheduled Ride Plans & Dates:

March 10, 1 pm: Little Sugar from Lake Avalon, Bella Vista Bar and Grill afterward. Route

April 7, 1 pm: Rail Yard and Lake Atalanta, Parkside Public afterwards

May 19, 1 pm: Hobbs - Karst Loop, Wolf Den Loop, El Pueblito afterward


INCLEMENT WEATHER PROTOCOL: Postponement dates & cancellation will be communicated via email or text in the event of poor weather/riding conditions.

GEAR REQUIREMENTS:

Note: This is a self-supported ride. Riders must come prepared with tubes, patch kits, levers, etc. Our coaches will be able to facilitate mechanicals, but we suggest each rider come with their own mechanical supplies.

Mountain bike in good, functioning condition:

Front & rear wheel disc brakes

Functional shifting gears

Mountain bike tires

*Bikes will be inspected for functionality & safety

Properly fitting helmet & safety gear (gloves, knee & elbow pads, etc.)

Appropriate seasonal attire (moisture wicking fabric in summer, warm layers in winter (no cotton), etc.)

Closed toe shoes

Riders must carry their own hydration & snacks
