The 2023 Sunset Races are kids-only mountain bike races the evening before the NICA races at Spring Hill Park on September 9, and at Centennial Park in Fayetteville on November 4.
6-8 year olds will do 1 loop, and the 9-11 year olds will do two loops. We respectfully ask that those racing NICA the next day not participate.
Cost is $25 for one race or $40 for both.
Pre-ride is available from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Every rider must be supervised by an adult parent, coach, or guardian during pre-ride.
Volunteers are needed! Check in with Kyla at the registration tent.
Centennial Schedule and Categories:
2:00 pm - Day of/Onsite Registration Open
3:30 - 4:00 pm - Preride Course, must be accompanied by a parent or coach, all participants must have a race plate to enter the course.
3:30 pm - Registration Closes
4:15 pm - Balance Bike Race - Down the runway
4:30 pm - Boys 6-8 years old - 1.5 miles
4:35 pm - Girls 6-8 years old - 1.5 miles
4:45 pm - Boys 9-11 years old - 3 miles
4:50 pm - Girls 9-11 years old - 3 miles
5:45 pm - Racing Concludes, S'mores Party Begins
6:00 pm - Awards Ceremony
Sunset Races Other Notes
Courses are subject to change at race director discretion.
6-8 year olds may race the older kids course and 9-11 year olds may race the 6-8 year old course at the discretion of the race director. Older kids racing down will not be eligible for prizes. Please email [email protected] to discuss.
Special Considerations:
- All pets must be on a leash.
- No riding in the NICA Pit Zone.
- Helmets must be worn at all times when riders are on a bike.
